Who Are We?

The Ozark Rape Crisis Center, Inc. (ORCC) is a private, non-profit organization concerned with the problem of sexual assault in our community.  ORCC began operation in 1992 when a community needs assessment indicated that there was a need for 24-hour crisis intervention services for victims of sexual assault in this area.  The main office is located in Harrison, AR with satellite offices in Yellville and Marshall.  In 1999, ORCC was able to expand into Johnson County and open a full time branch office in Clarksville. In 2000 ORCC began serrving victims of sexual assault in Newton and Carroll counties.

The mission of ORCC is as follows:

1.   To provide immediate crisis intervention services and emotional support to
victims of rape, incest, and sexual assault and to their families and friends.

2.   To increase community awareness and understanding of the crimes of rape,
       incest, and sexual assault.

3.   To conduct a continuing education campaign to assure area wide awareness
of available assistance and assure that victims have access to all of these
       services.

4.   To serve as a catalyst for effective change to improve the response of the
health care, law enforcement, and criminal justice systems to rape, incest,
       and sexual assault.
